What Are Advocates?

Advocates promote The Darfur Wall by emailing friends, posting to blogs, or spreading the word in their own creative ways.

When people donate and tell us you sent them, we give you Advocate Points. Advocate Points let you track your progress in promoting The Darfur Wall and let others know about the work you've done.

We encourage both individuals and groups to join us as Advocates.

Earning Advocate Points

You earn Advocate points when people donate to The Darfur Wall and tell us you sent them. Here's how it works:

  1. You tell your friend Jonah about The Darfur Wall and give him your Advocate ID. (You'll choose your Advocate ID when you become an Advocate.)
  2. Jonah comes to The Darfur Wall and donates. He enters your Advocate ID in the donation form.
  3. You earn 3 Advocate Points!

Recruiting Advocates

You can also earn points when you recruit an Advocate and he or she earns points. Here's how it works:

  1. You tell your friend Matt about the Advocate program.
  2. Matt comes to The Darfur Wall and becomes an Advocate. He enters your Advocate ID in the Advocate signup form. You've recruited Matt!
  3. Now Matt's friend Daniel comes to The Darfur Wall and donates. He enters Matt's Advocate ID in the donation form.
  4. Matt earns 3 Advocate Points. You earn 1 Advocate Point because you recruited Matt!

Your Advocate Link

When people come to The Darfur Wall via your Advocate Link, your Advocate ID is automatically entered in the donation form or the Advocate signup form. Give out this link so that people don't forget to enter your Advocate ID. (We'll give you your link when you become an Advocate).

Advocate Lights

Sometimes you'll see a little light next to an Advocate's name. Here's what it means:

Advocate light 10 = 10-99 Advocate Points
Advocate light 100 = 100-999 Advocate Points
Advocate light 1000 = 1000 or more Advocate Points
